I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. I love to draw, paint, cake decorate, quilt and create in clay. About 9 years ago, I started painting wooden items like the welcome sign in my store. Tony would cut all the wood for me and I did the painting. Then, because I couldn’t paint fast enough, Tony got into making pens on his lathe, scroll sawing, and other woodworking. We started participating in local craft fairs and had a lot of fun. Then I branched out and tried making some jewelry.
After seeing polymer beads, I fell in love with them and decided I wanted to make my own. After the first attempt and not much luck, I almost gave up
But I am glad I gave it another try! I taught myself to make canes with a couple basic polymer books and a lot of research on the internet. I began having better luck in cane making and have been hooked ever since. I have been making clay beads for about 4 years and nail canes for almost a year. It is always a challenge to see if they will turn out.
This has turned into quite a little family business. My girls sometimes help me with the drilling of beads and cutting nail cane slices. Tony often gets put to work, drilling beads and packaging orders, when he comes home from his “other job”.
I get many of my design ideas when someone emails and asks for a certain design. I love to make new designs. If you don’t see what you are looking for, email and I will let you know if it is something I can make.
